Rebranding

Simon was briefed to help define the charity’s brand and market positioning in order to create something more coherent and focussed. Following a competitive review and brand workshop, Simon and the design team came up with a set of words and images to portray the organisation. It became very apparent that the existing name no longer represented the charity accurately so the team explored new names and visual identities with a small group of trustees and staff who were given responsibility for recommending a solution to the Board. Simon then advised on the launch of the new name and identity and the final result was deemed a great success.

Mentoring

The Executive Director then asked Simon to mentor the Head of Fundraising and support him in working with agencies and other consultants, managing his time, people management and team-building, as well as to advise on specific areas of the fundraising programme. The mentee, Oliver Kemp (now CEO of Build Africa), said:

Simon is both extremely easy to work with and gives great fundraising advice. I felt as though the support and advice he gave me and to the organisation was invaluable at a difficult time. I would recommend him to any organisation looking to grow their fundraising income.

What else EAI said about us:

Simon is a great strategic thinker.

He helped EAI re-brand itself, providing good insights on our markets and options for how we might reposition the organisation.

He also provided mentoring and coaching to our Head of Fundraising helping him improve his management skills and make sensible strategic choices.”
