Campaigning

Simon was brought in to advise YWCA on how best to undertake its campaigning work and which issues to focus on following a major project on its market positioning and branding. He successfully used his experience of working for campaigning organisations to facilitate discussions and decisions based on a set of criteria designed to meet the charity’s strategic aims through awareness-raising and recruitment-based advocacy.

Donor marketing

Simon also provided strategic input and advice on YWCA’s fundraising programme for 18 months, predominantly on the area of donor marketing. He assisted with the analysis of results and their implications, challenged internal thinking and assumptions to ensure the charity’s long-term financial needs were met. He brought sector trends, his knowledge and expertise to bear on the fundraising strategy as a whole. In addition, Simon helped the Fundraising Director compile the strategy and budgets and win approval of the investment plans from the Senior Management Team and Fundraising Committee.

What YWCA said

Simon has been advising YWCA on its donor marketing for over 18 months.

He has a very practical approach and always responds quickly to our needs. I have particularly valued his ability to retain sight of the big picture when dealing with lots of detail.

He has also helped make our planning and budgeting for the next five years as realistic and accurate as possible.”
