During my five years with FOE, one of the UK's leading environmental pressure groups, I doubled income in a difficult climate for middle-sized organisations. I also achieved the following:

  • Managed a department of 35 people and budgets of up to £3 million
  • Overcame internal cultural barriers and integrated the outputs of two previously distinct departments
  • Developed a new brand positioning for the organisation following detailed market research and stakeholder consultation
  • Introduced a new corporate identity, nationally, then internationally
  • Created Friends of the Earth's first integrated communications and fundraising strategies
  • Persuaded Senior Management Teams, staff bodies and Boards to adopt new strategic marketing approaches
  • Successfully applied marketing techniques to charity campaigning and advocacy
  • Developed a set of guidelines to enable partnerships with ethical businesses
  • Combined mass marketing approaches with those to individual major supporters
