During my five years with FOE, one of the UK's leading environmental pressure groups, I doubled income in a difficult climate for middle-sized organisations. I also achieved the following:
- Managed a department of 35 people and budgets of up to £3 million
- Overcame internal cultural barriers and integrated the outputs of two previously distinct departments
- Developed a new brand positioning for the organisation following detailed market research and stakeholder consultation
- Introduced a new corporate identity, nationally, then internationally
- Created Friends of the Earth's first integrated communications and fundraising strategies
- Persuaded Senior Management Teams, staff bodies and Boards to adopt new strategic marketing approaches
- Successfully applied marketing techniques to charity campaigning and advocacy
- Developed a set of guidelines to enable partnerships with ethical businesses
- Combined mass marketing approaches with those to individual major supporters
